What is a Phobia? .

A phobia is an overwhelming fear of an object , place  feeling   situation or an animal. Phobias are more pronounced than fears . They develop when a person’s sense of danger about a certain situation .

Phobias are an extreme form of fear or anxiety which is triggered by a situation even if there is no danger . In severe cases a person will organise their life around advoiding  “the thing” that causes them Anxiety , their belief is that it will happen.

What causes Phobias?

Phobias don’t have a single cause , however there are a number of factors.

  • Particular incident or trauma.
  • Genetics ( more people may be born with a tendency to be more anxious than others.
  • Phobias – develops early in life from a parent or sibling .

Simple Phobias can be treated through gradual exposure to the object , place , situation or animal.
